Canelo Accused Of Copying Mayweather's Blueprint - 'Canelo Fanboys, He's A Wannabe Mayweather'

Canelo Alvarez has been mocked for copying Floyd Mayweather amid claims he is ducking David Benavidez.

The Undisputed Super Middleweight Champion will defend his title against Jaime Munguia on May 4. The narrative has been that Alvarez avoided Benavidez, who had been the WBC Super Middleweight Interim Champion for over two years.

When Canelo was asked about fighting Benavidez, he demanded $150-200 million. The Mexican Monster hit back at Canelo for putting on an unrealistic demand. Benavidez tried to get Turki Alalshikh to make the fight, but the Saudis appeared to want the Mexican Monster to face the winner of Dmitry Bivol vs Artur Beterbiev.

Canelo vs Benavidez

“You know he he brings he bring nothing to the table for me; just he brings just 25 pounds more in the night the the fight…but if he if if some promoter, not him, because he’s nothing to offer me…but I one promoter who I work to they come and say I offer to I offer to you 150 to 200 million. I fight tomorrow…that’s the only that’s the only reason I fight with him,” Canelo said

“Canelo, if I have nothing to offer, then why are you demanding that you get 150-200 million to fight someone who isn’t worth anything? Hopefully, after you make that 150 million, you have enough left over to buy a pair of nuts,” Benavidez stated

Despite this, Mayweather praised Canelo, stating he had nothing to prove. This created the narrative that Alvarez was following Mayweather’s blueprint. Mayweather was accused of not facing fighters in their prime, delaying the fights to secure the highest purses for the least risk.

His fight with Manny Pacquiao was long overdue. They faced off in 2015 when Pacman was past his prime. Mayweather won a one-sided unanimous decision. In response to the praise, Canelo thanked Mayweather for his warm words.

Canelo On Benavidez

“I feel happy because he knows everything. That was coming from him, who has been and done everything, so I feel special. I feel good. I’m here to make history, and that’s it, and I’m going to continue to do it,” Canelo said

And yet, reporter Showbizz the Adult bashed Canelo for trying to mimic Mayweather’s handbook.

“I don’t want Canelo fanboys now to hate on Floyd Mayweather ever again. Vice versa. Floyd Mayweather Fanboys can’t say negative about Canelo. But why? Because Canelo Alvarez is following the blueprint, the green print of Floyd Mayweather. He’s a wannabe Floyd Mayweather.

“So you Canelo Fanboys better be Floyd fans and start looking back at what Floyd did and say, ‘that was brilliant. Because Canelo wants to be just like Big Brother Floyd. Floyd Mayweather fanboys should be looking at Canelo, saying, ‘Canelo, that is the right way to do it because that’s how Floyd did it.”

But the longer Canelo delays the Benavidez fight, the more boxing fans will demand that the WBC strip him. That is something Canelo will have to be wary of.
