Strickland Survives Six-Roll ATV Crash Without Helmet

UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland survived an ATV crash that rolled six times at approximately 60 miles per hour while he was not wearing a helmet.

Strickland told followers on Instagram that his friend was driving when the vehicle flipped, leaving him with scrapes to his head and shoulders after repeated impacts with the ground, according to Sherdog. "I let my buddy drive; he rolled us going, like, 60," he said in a video showing the injuries. "We rolled, like, six times. That was from my head smacking the ground while going 60; I did not have a helmet on. I'm an idiot."

Driver Hospitalized After Losing Consciousness

The driver, whom Strickland identified as Chris Cornell, lost consciousness following the crash and was transported to a hospital. Strickland described the incident as "the most fun I've had in a very, very long time" despite the outcome. His sponsor Rainbet reportedly agreed to cover the costs associated with the accident.

This marks Strickland's second vehicle mishap in a week after he fell from a dirt bike days earlier. The 31-7 fighter was also involved in a serious motorcycle accident in 2018 that kept him out of competition for nearly two years.

Strickland is reportedly scheduled to defend his title in December against Nassourdine Imavov, though the latest crash could affect those plans.
