Jake Paul Humiliates Mike Perry With Three Knockdowns; Calls Out Alex Pereira
Jake Paul outclassed Mike Perry with three knockdowns as the fight was waived off in round six.
Perry fancied his chances coming into the fight, as he promised to set a high pace. However, he soon realised things would not go his own way. The Problem Child was the sharper puncher, dropping Perry with an overhand right in round one. Perry got up, but it was a shock to the system as Paul landed several jabs to the midsection. Mike was missing wildly, but he found some success with a right over-the-top.
Paul Starts Fast
The second round was the same story. Perry was leaving himself wide open with his low guard. Paul took advantage with a right hand again to drop Perry. Mike got up once again, but he was buzzed as his legs buckled slightly. Blood was also pouring next to the eye as Paul’s jabs targeted the area. Perry was already running out of ideas, earning himself a stern warning from the referee for shoving Paul.
Perry Struggling
Perry was gassing out, allowing Paul to take advantage. He threw several left hooks without an answer in the fourth, while the referee examined Perry’s condition before the fifth began. Perry’s face was covered in blood, and his misery was over in the sixth. Jake fired a one-two, consisting of a left hook and a right hand, as Perry hit the floor for a third time. Despite getting up, the fight was stopped. Paul then confirmed he would fight Mike Tyson in November. He also called out UFC’s Alex Pereria via a FaceTime call.
Post-Fight
"He’s tough as nails, I’m sorry it took so long, respect to Perry, the King of Violence, I hit too hard and produced too much damage. Mike Tyson, you’re next big boy, sign the contract, 15 November on Netflix. [UFC champion] Alex Pereira, you said you want to box, I’m the king of this, come over, we can make this happen. Indeed, I’ve beaten multiple UFC champions, he said he wants to box.
"100 percent, it’s happening, 15 November, he’s training and looking crazier than ever, Netflix, I’ll prove everybody wrong. Everybody said I was making a mistake with this fight, but I take risks. I didn’t feel very good tonight, I was sick, my knuckle is swollen. It was basically broken before the fight. It didn’t delay this fight [so why would it delay the Tyson fight?], I’m a warrior.
"It’d be fun [to fight Perry in a bare knuckle fight], I’d be down for it, I love combat and going to war, in two years I will be the cruiserweight champion of the world. I’m way sharper, cleaner, he hit me with one good shot. Everybody said he would knock me out.
"Mike, I love you, but this is my sport now, you’re a legend. You’re one of the two most famous boxers to ever lived, alongside Muhammad Ali, so I’m honoured to share a ring with you. But I want to take your throne,’ Paul
