Keyshawn Davis Ready To Face Tank - 'I Got The Whole Package'

Keyshawn Davis is ready to fight Gervonta Davis next.

That is according to his trainer, Brian McIntyre. Keyshawn is undefeated with a 10-0-1 record, which includes seven knockouts. His biggest wins have come against Jose Pedraza and Anthony Yigit. While that may be the case, he has yet to face top-level opposition. There are plenty of big names in the 135-pound division he could face.

Fights against Andy Cruz, William Zepeda, Raymond Muratalla, Edwin De Los Santos, and Floyd Schofield are alternatives. Those fights would help prepare Davis to take on the face of boxing that is Tank. While that may be the case, a victory for Keyshawn makes him a PPV star. Based on what he has seen so far, Bomac backed his fighter to beat Davis.

Bomac Reacts

“I’ve got a 135-pounder that can make some noise, and that’s where my concern is at Keyshawn Davis. They’re not talking about it because he’s only to ten fights, but the world knows he’s right there. He just called him out. So, I think he has in his mind that he can beat him. I’ll tell you like this: As long as he [Keyshawn] follows the game plan, he can win any fight out there. You got to think on the fly and adapt to the style that’s in there. That’s what makes a great fighter, adapting,” Bomac said

Nevertheless, there is no incentive for Davis to take on Keyshawn. Reports indicate that his next fight is likely to be against Vasiliy Lomachenko. Loma holds the IBF Belt at 135 after he beat George Kambosos Jr. for the vacant title. That allows Davis to unify with his WBA Belt. There is also the possibility of facing Shakur Stevenson next. Shakur has the WBC belt at 135, allowing Davis another opportunity to unify. Keyshawn has no belts, making it a less appealing fight.

Will It Happen?

There is also an argument that Keyshawn has done nothing to deserve the fight ahead of Loma and Tank. Tank recently revealed that he signed a 6-7 fight deal, surpassing the $200 million deal Floyd Mayweather signed with Showtime Boxing. That would require Tank to face the biggest names in boxing to generate those big sums. While Keyshawn may become a big name in the future, Davis’ priorities may be elsewhere for now. But that did not stop Keyshawn from demanding the fight.

“I feel like I got the whole package. I’m bigger, I’m younger, I’m just as fast, and I’m strong…I still want to fight you. I feel like when it comes down to me and him, this is the best match-up that you can get in the 135-lb division. It only takes one fight against Teofimo or Berinchyk for y’all to say, ‘Keyshawn is ready.’ I’ve been telling you I’m ready [for Tank]. I still want to fight you. We got a little bit of history. We are going to fight whenever you want to make it happen,” Keyshawn stated
