Keyshawn Davis has not ruled out a fight with Shakur Stevenson at some point in the future if the terms were right.
The pair are currently stablemates and are both promoted under Top Rank, as both fighters have previously played down any suggestions that they would fight each other.
And given that they are both unbeaten, keeping the fighters away from each other to build them would make sense.
Davis is a rising star with an undefeated record of 9-0. Meanwhile, Stevenson is a two-division champion whose record stands at 20-0.
And yet, Davis has kept the door open which would be an intriguing fight. Both fighters are known for having an exceptional IQ and the ability to make adjustments on the fly.
Davis On Stevenson
“If it’s worth it, [I would fight Shakur]. It definitely gotta be worth it. It gotta be super worth it,” Davis said
Meanwhile, Bob Arum has revealed that he is not sure if Vasiliy Lomachenko will face Shakur Stevenson.
Following Devin Haney’s move up to 140 pounds, the ‘Dream’ became a champion in recess at lightweight.
This had the impact of making Shakur, the WBC interim champion at 135, in line to face the next-highest contender: Loma.
Although that may be the case, the duo have failed to secure a fight despite Shakur’s insistence on making it happen.
“Yo Vasily Lomachenko. Nothing but respect champ, deserved them belts, I hope [you get] healed up and everything is all good with you.
“I think it’s time for a real high skill level chess I’m ready for a big fight champ, let’s make something happen,” Stevenson
And now Bob Arum has had this say, as he could not guarantee the fight moving forward.
“Let’s see. We’re going to get the best possible opponent. If it’s not Lomachenko, it’ll be somebody else. He’ll be fighting for the lightweight title, and I look at Shakur as a fighter in my mind based on ability is right there at the top of the best pound-for-pound fighter,” Arum
