De La Hoya Agrees To Box Dana White After He Previously Called Him A 'Cokehead'

Oscar De La Hoya is willing to box Dana White on a potential Ryan Garcia vs. Sean O’Malley boxing card.

Garcia and O’Malley have been trading verbal blows, resulting in Ryan calling out the UFC Bantamweight Champion. Garcia urged Dana White to make him an offer, provided he wins against Devin Haney. King Ryan faces Haney on April 20 for the latter’s WBC Junior Welterweight Title.

A victory gives Garcia his first world title, making it vital to focus on the task at hand. But Garcia’s promoter was willing to make the event given the potential to do big business, even going as far as to state he would box White.

De La Hoya On White

“Maybe, I can do Dana on the co-main. No, we’re cool but it’s all good. I haven’t even talked to the guy. Like I’m good, but that doesn’t mean we can’t go at it. No, I never [met him]. Does he live in Vegas? I live in Vegas, and I’m going to do some big things in Vegas now,” De La Hoya stated

De La Hoya and White have had a long-standing feud. It started when De La Hoya was critical of Floyd Mayweather’s fight with Conor McGregor in 2017, stating it was disrespectful to the sport of boxing. White responded by referencing De La Hoya’s previous problems with drugs.

“WTF. Is this guy snorting coke and drinking booze again,” White revealed

White then mocked De La Hoya’s potential boxing comeback, stating his drug problems fuelled it.

“Cocaine isn’t cheap. It’s expensive. You’ve got to make money,” White added

Garcia On O’Malley

But there is a chance of that event happening. Ryan is willing to even face Sugar in the Octagon. The last time a male boxer crossed over to fight someone in MMA was in 2010. That is when James Toney took on Randy Courte. Courte’s UFC record stands at 19-11-0, making it no surprise that Toney came out second best.

He was stopped in the first round via a submission at UFC 118. But Garcia saw himself coming out on top. He referenced how he has skills in wrestling, stating he had stopped his security guard. His desire to train with the best MMA fighters to prepare for the clash was also noticeable.

“I’ll beat his ass in MMA guaranteed. I’m a natural, you don’t understand. I’m a natural wrestler. I just beat my security that’s a wrestler, I beat him. I’m strong and I’ve got crazy conditioning. That’s already been done. I know I’m going to knock him out in boxing, that’s not even fair.

“What is fair is to test myself in MMA because I know if I put my mind to it and I trained every day, and I had Nate [Diaz] helping me, even Alex Pereira, all of them, and I really locked in, he will not beat me. “I will come with everything I have and I will destroy Sean O’Malley. In the UFC,” Ryan stated
