Claressa Shields Blasts Tank Davis For Calling Her A French Bulldog

Claressa Shields has slammed Gervonta Davis for calling her a ‘French Bulldog.’

Davis and Shields are not on good terms as both have had a different take on Ryan Garcia’s failed test for Ostarine. Garcia tested positive twice for the substance, although further testing ruled out the presence of 19-Norandrosterone, an anabolic steroid. Garcia’s B sample will be tested on May 22. If it comes back positive, Garcia must prove contamination.

There is a chance of a ban and getting the result overturned into a no-contest. Shields called out Davis for defending Garcia since the VADA tests had shown a banned substance. She also questioned his ability as a fighter, saying he was not facing the best. Davis referred to her as a ‘French Bulldog’ as things got very personal. The boxer also responded by blocking Davis on X.

Shields On Davis

“I am so happy that you think I look like a French bulldog and consider me ugly, because you beat up…[those] that you consider cute. I’m glad I’m ugly to you. Go win some belts. You standing up here Tweeting. If you that lonely, go and find you some friends. Oh, I want to ask you a question. Why are you on Ryan…so hard? ‘Oh, Ryan’s test just came back and he wasn’t dirty.’

“He ain’t even tested the B-sample yet. Why are you so worried about Devin Haney’s business? What is wrong with you? You were never my type. I never looked at you like, ‘Oh, Gervonta look good.’ You [a] midget…do you think I care about you not thinking I’m pretty? I’m engaged. I have a man. You can’t keep a women because you beat all your[s] up,” Shields said

Davis’ presence on social media is bringing attention to his upcoming fight with Frank Martin. He will defend his WBA Lightweight Title against Frank Martin on June 15. During his kick-off presser with Martin, Davis showed some sparring footage of him allegedly dominating Martin. He brought some hype to his fight which was much needed.

Davis’ Future

The boxing world has been preoccupied with Haney-Garcia, which is taking attention away from Davis. However, he revealed that he has signed a 6-7 fight deal that surpasses what Floyd Mayweather Jr. had with Showtime in 2013. Haney was mentioned on his list of targets, as well as the Garcia rematch. Davis’ comments could be seen as an attempt to hype up those fights. Garcia’s win over Haney makes Davis’ victory against Ryan much bigger. It also leaves the narrative in the place for a rematch. While Davis has butted heads with Shields, the future does look bright for him.

“I’m at the point where I passed him and I’m doing it at a young age. When Floyd Mayweather was 29 [he wasn’t doing it like me], you’ll see. That [6-7 fight] deal that I was talking about, that’s bigger than his [Mayweather’s six-fight] deal [that Floyd had with Showtime in 2013], and I’m just releasing it on here,” Davis said
