Gervonta Davis Names His Hit List Including Mayweather

Gervonta Davis has revealed his hit list following his 6-7 fight deal with PBC.

Davis is preparing to face Frank Martin on June 15 in a defense of his WBA Lightweight Title. It is the first time Davis will box since stopping Ryan Garcia last year. That was Davis’ biggest win as the fight solder over 1.2 million PPVs. It also produced a gate of over $20 million, making it the highest-earning event of 2023. Since then, Davis’ career has been somewhat derailed.

He was arrested for breaking the terms of his house arrest over a hit-and-run. He served 44 days in jail and the talk over who the face of boxing is shifted towards Ryan Garcia. Tank has been doing everything in his power to promote the Martin fight. He approached Devin Haney in a face-to-face altercation. They have bad blood after Davis trolled Haney over his loss to Garcia. Tank also backed Garcia’s claim that he is innocent following his failed VADA test for Ostarine.

Davis’ List

Davis revealed that his new deal eclipsed the $200 million deal that Floyd Mayweather had signed with Showtime in 2013. The names on Davis’ hit list include Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson. A fight with Lopez would require Davis to move up to 140 and potentially fight for the WBO Junior Welterweight Title. A bout with Stevenson would be a unification at 135 since Shakur holds the WBC belt.

“I’m at the point where I passed him and I’m doing it at a young age. When Floyd Mayweather was 29 [he wasn’t doing it like me], you’ll see. That [6-7 fight] deal that I was talking about, that’s bigger than his [Mayweather’s six-fight] deal [that Floyd had with Showtime in 2013], and I’m just releasing it on here,” Davis said

Davis was also open to facing Isaac Cruz and Ryan Garcia in rematches. The fight with Cruz in 2021 went the distance, with Pitbull being praised for pushing Davis all the way. However, Davis revealed that he hurt his hand, raising question marks over how well Cruz performed. Cruz is now the WBA champion at 140, making it a title fight.

A rematch with Garcia would prove lucrative at 140. Garcia is coming off the best win of his career against Devin Haney. However, Garcia failed a VADA test for Ostarine. Until Garcia can prove his innocence, the boxer may receive a ban. Devin Haney and Floyd Mayweather were then mentioned. While the fight with Haney appears likely, a bout with Mayweather could only happen in an exhibition.

Davis vs Mayweather

Davis and Mayweather recently traded verbal shots via social media. Davis hit out at Mayweather, claiming he was stuck in Dubai because he owed people money. Mayweather did not confirm the news; instead, he chose to mock Davis by sharing clips of him dancing. Their relationship initially soured when Davis left Mayweather Promotions to align himself fully with Al Haymon in 2023. Tank alleged he was then not allowed to train at the Mayweather Boxing Gym for the Garcia fight. While a fight with Mayweather is unlikely, it would settle their tension once and for all.

“Floyd Mayweather [may be the toughest fight]. I don’t even know [about the others]. I can’t even say until I get in there with them but all of them can get it,” Davis stated
