Caleb Plant Sparks A Brawl By Throwing A Drink At Ryan Garcia – ‘Ryan Was Ready To Throw’
Caleb Plant threw a drink at Ryan Garcia, causing a brawl.
The incident happened as Garcia exited the Gervonta Davis vs. Frank Martin fight. They had been ringside to see Davis knock out Martin in round eight. Before the fight happened, Garcia and Plant had plenty to say to each other. Plant was not pleased with Garcia’s behavoir after he failed two VADA tests for Clomiphene. The positive test happened after his win over Devin Haney. While that may have been the case, Garcia’s B sample tested negative. He now faces a battle to prove his innocence. The two fighters then had a back-and-forth on social media.
“Regardless say what you want there wasn’t any amount of ostarine that could’ve helped me beat up Mr Haney,” Garcia
“Then why take it?” Plant
Garcia was not pleased with the response, as he spoke about Plant’s wife. He alleged that Plant had cheated on his wife, forcing Caleb to take matters into his own hands. The following footage shows Plant throwing a drink at Garcia, resulting in the brawl. Once the dust had settled, this is what Garcia had to say.

“Once you start talking about somebody’s wife, it makes it a little bit different. At the same time, I know he needs a lot of help, but if he keeps it up, I’m sure he’ll get the help he’s looking for. I’m not looking to, but I’m not looking to get bullied either, and neither is my wife. Just August on August 10th or August 17th, and I’m excited to be back. I’ve been grinding,” Plant said
Plant vs. Charlo
This is not the first time Plant has lashed out at a boxer. He threw a slap at Jermall Charlo following the Errol Spence Jr. vs Terence Crawford weigh-in. Plant claimed Charlo had disrespected him in front of his wife while also pulling his beard. After repeated statements telling Charlo to stop, it was not enough, as Plant responded. That set up the potential for a fight with Charlo.
“A man’s got a right to defend himself. Grown man touches another grown man in his face, pulling on his beard real hard, and I’ve got the decency to tell you not to do that again, I’m gonna spazz on you right there…You immediately grab my face again even harder after I just asked you not to do that no more. I’ve got my wife standing right behind me and I’m in a room full of my peers. I mean… what do you do?” Plant stated
The same cannot be said for Garcia, as the weight difference is too much. Garcia fights around 143, while Plant is a 168-pounder. But Garcia was also there for his own reasons. After Davis’ win, he approached Tank about a rematch. He wore a T-shirt, claiming he was Davis’ number one fan. The t-shirt also had the word ‘rematch,’ setting the possibility of another fight.
“Ryan? He’s crazy. He was talking about a rematch. He said I was the best at 135 and 140, too. [And] he says he wants to fight me again? I’ll…[beat him] again,” Davis stated
