Thurman Stops Jarvis Inside Three Rounds

Keith Thurman stopped Brock Jarvis in just three rounds to mark a successful return to the sport.
Thurman was having his first boxing appearance since 2022, where he secured his last victory against Mario Barrios. He struggled with injuries as he pulled out of his Tim Tszyu fight last year. However, Thurman showed that he was still levels above Jarvis, stopping the Australian in devastating fashion. He demonstrated what made him the former Unified Welterweight Champion. Jarvis started the fight well, landing shots to the body and an uppercut to try and overpower Thurman.
The latter remained composed as he found some success with his jab. Thurman slowed the fight down in round two, as he stayed behind his jab before mixing things up with his left hook. Jarvis hit back with a one-two combination before Thurman countered with a body shot. But it was all over in round three, as Thurman ended the fight. A big right hand sent Jarvis to the canvas. Although Jarvis got up, Thurman landed a combination and a left uppercut to send him to the canvas again. The referee responded by waiving the fight off. Thurman could now target a fight with Tim Tzyu next, as he called him out.

Post-Fight
“I just raised the bar on you Tszyu. This was three years of inactivity. You see what I do. You want to come back baby? You’ve got to come back hard baby! Represent Australia. Show them what you’ve got. Americans fighter it ain’t me, but we’ve got another American fighter (Joey Spencer) coming for you, boy. You best believe American fighters don’t lie down for anyone,” Thurman said
“My love for the sport is still here, that’s why I did what I did today baby,” he said. “Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman is back in action. Anyone can get it. Let’s go baby. What set it all up was a small left hook to the body. The first knockdown happened, he stood up and showed some grit, and then I put the pressure on after I saw the weakness in him. I was really impressed that he got up, but I knew he was in a very weakened state after the pressure was put on by a two-time world champion,” Thurman added
