Ryan Garcia Wants A Quick Return
Ryan Garcia has one fight left on his Golden Boy Promotions deal, and Oscar De La Hoya wants it to be a major payday.
De La Hoya is aiming for a Devin Haney or Teofimo Lopez matchup on Cinco de Mayo weekend 2027.
Garcia has other ideas. The WBC welterweight champion doesn't want to sit out for eight months and is looking at a December or January return instead, naming Angel Fierro and Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz as possible opponents. Both would bring Golden Boy far less money.
The 28-year-old has also reached out to Haney about a rematch and got the reply, "Let's make the fight." Garcia's majority-decision win over Haney in April 2024 was later changed to a no-contest after he tested positive for ostarine.
