Streamer Neon Gets Jumped Following Diaz vs. Masvidal Presser
Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal had their last press conference before their fight on Saturday, as steamer Neon found himself in trouble.
They will clash in a ten-rounder at 175 pounds in only their second fight. Masvidal’s only boxing fight occurred in 2005 when he defeated Joseph Benjamin via a majority decision. Diaz’s boxing fight was much more recent, losing a unanimous decision against Jake Paul last year. Masvidal and Diaz have faced each other once in the UFC.
Their 2019 clash took place at UFC 244 for the right to become the first BMF Champion. Masvidal won that fight after the bout was stopped at the end of round three. Diaz suffered a cut over his eye, making it no longer safe to continue. During one of their pressers for the build up, a brawl broke out. Diaz left the presser, refusing to do a face-off. Then a member of Diaz’s team threw a punch in the direction of Masvidal, and both camps engaged in a brawl. Masvidal was not happy with what went down.

“I’ve lost all respect for him. He had his gimps attack my coach, who is almost 50 years old, he’s not a pro fighter…you know that’s my coach and you had your two gimps attack him. One is a pro fighter and the other one is a punk…20-year-old. I don’t even have words for it, he’s just a coward who took off, you let your people get mopped up
“None of my guys went to the hospital, those boys were all..[messed] up. To me, he’s a coward of a general. To lead his people into battle and then to take off running like that, attacking my coach, it was all pre-meditated…it just shows me the level of coward that he is. I used to have respect for him when I didn’t know him that well, but now that I know him pretty well, this guy’s just a… coward, straight-up. He might be tough, can take a hit, has good endurance, but he’s a…coward,” Masvidal said
The Future
A win has plenty of implications for both men. Masvidal wants to secure bigger fights, with Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather being mentioned. There is also the chance to face Chael Sonnen in a boxing fight. Sonnen called out Masvidal after his exhibition draw with Anderson Silva. Diaz has hinted at a return to the UFC at some point. He has not had a UFC since beating Tony Ferguson at UFC 279.
He has been linked with a trilogy fight against Conor McGregor. Since The Notorious is readying his comeback, which has been delayed by his toe injury, there could be enough momentum to make that fight. Both men had plenty to say at the final presser. Streamer Neon’s trolling towards Diaz backfired. He told Diaz he would get knocked out, resulting in Nate firing back. Once Neon left the arena, he was chased and jumped by a member of Diaz’s team.
