Iglesias KOs Shishkin In The Eighth Round

Osleys Iglesias knocked out Vladimir Shishkin in the eighth round during their IBF Super Middleweight Title eliminator.

From the opening bell, Iglesias asserted his dominance, outworking and out-landing his opponent. Iglesias buzzed his man in the opening round with a right hand, showing the difference in power that has resulted in 13 KO wins from his 14 bouts. The southpaw quickly found a home for his left hand too, with Shishkin on the backfoot. Shishkin’s lack of head movement and lateral movement made him an easy target.

Iglesias shook Shishkin with big shots towards the end of the third, as the writing was on the wall. While Shishkin showed huge grit to take the fight into the second half, he had no answer for Iglesias’ power. A left hand put Shishkin on the ropes, as further combinations forced the referee to halt the fight in the eighth. Iglesias is now in a position to face the winner of Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford, who face off on September 13 in an Undisputed Super Middleweight clash.
