UFC Baku hands out four Performance bonuses
Four fighters pocketed $100,000 Performance of the Night bonuses at UFC Baku on Saturday, with finishes coming across the card at National Gymnastic Arena in Azerbaijan.
According to Sherdog, Rafael Fiziev earned a check for his spinning wheel kick knockout of Manuel Torres in the lightweight main event. The finish came just 15 seconds into the second round. Fiziev connected with the kick then dropped punches to close the show.
Yakhyaev ties historic heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight mark
Abdul-Rakhman Yakhyaev collected another bonus for the card's fastest stoppage. He knocked out Julius Walker eight seconds into their light heavyweight bout, tying for the second-fastest finish in divisional history and seventh across all UFC weight classes.
Asu Almabayev picked up his third straight UFC win when he forced Charles Johnson to tap to a kneebar at the 3:33 mark of Round 3 in their flyweight clash. The Kazakh secured the submission late after a competitive scrap.
Daniil Donchenko rounded out the bonus recipients by finishing Theodor Berggen with a head kick and punches 1:35 into the second round of their welterweight pairing. The card produced no Fight of the Night winner, with all four $100,000 awards going to individual performances.
