The latest exchange began when Garcia insisted he has been enrolled in year-round drug testing and accused both Haney and Shakur Stevenson of unfairly continuing to raise the subject. Garcia tested positive for ostarine ahead of their April 2024 fight, a result that has followed him through every subsequent public appearance.

Haney was not persuaded. He responded on X by pointing to his own record as a multi-year WBC champion: I was a WBC champion for years never been tested once.

Garcia fired back immediately and brought the temperature up considerably.

"Again you are an idiot, and now you are pissing me off. I just got tested yesterday. Either you shut the f--- up or Ima do a Haney and send a cease and desist letter,” Garcia

The cease-and-desist reference was deliberate. Bill Haney sent one to Garcia's camp during a previous phase of their feud, and Garcia turning it into a punchline — "do a Haney" — was a direct shot at the family's legal tactics. Haney's response was not diplomatic: "Cheater cheater PED USER!" he posted.

What is also evident is that neither man is close to dropping it. Garcia's threat — framed sarcastically but directed at a real behaviour — suggests he believes Haney's public comments cross a legal line. Whether a cease-and-desist actually materialises or whether it was rhetorical ammunition is unclear. Given that Bill Haney previously employed exactly that tactic, Garcia using it back as a threat carries a specific irony that both men are aware of.
