Fury Rejects Joshua's Landlord Claim Ahead Of Cardiff
Tyson Fury dismissed Anthony Joshua's claim to be Cardiff's landlord ahead of their heavyweight clash, telling his rival he won't be paying rent when they meet in Wales.
The two British heavyweights appeared together at a pre-fight press conference Wednesday, where Fury rebuffed Joshua's suggestion that the Principality Stadium belongs to him. "I'm not paying," Fury said, per ESPN.
Fury And Joshua Show Respect After Years Of Social Media Feuding
The exchange marked a notable shift from years of barbs traded online between the camps. Both fighters struck a respectful tone at the media event, according to ESPN's report, with little of the hostility that defined their failed negotiations for a 2021 unification bout.
Joshua has fought twice in Cardiff previously, stopping Carlos Takam in 2017 and defending his titles against Joseph Parker in 2018. Fury, meanwhile, has never boxed in the Welsh capital as a professional.
The fight is scheduled for later this year at Principality Stadium, with exact dates expected to be confirmed shortly.
