Dana White Books Flight To D.C. After Trump Offer
UFC CEO Dana White is traveling to Washington D.C. for a Monday meeting with President Donald Trump following an unexpected job offer posted to Truth Social over the weekend.
Trump took to his social platform Saturday to publicly extend the press secretary position to White, as MMA Fighting first reported. The post also floated the idea of White assembling a team that would include several top mixed martial arts athletes — a list featuring lightweight champion Islam Makhachev alongside Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harrison.
White Confirms Washington Trip From London
White, currently in London overseeing Zuffa Boxing 12, posted an Oval Office photo with the message "on to the next chapter." When pressed by reporters about Trump's announcement, White told MMA Mania he was departing for the capital right away. "I'm flying to Washington D.C. right now," he said, adding with a laugh that he already juggles plenty of responsibilities.
The White House position has seen turnover in recent months with both Karoline Leavitt and Katie Zacharia departing. Whether accepting the role would require White to leave his UFC post has not been addressed.
No formal announcement has come from either the White House or the UFC. White and Trump are set to discuss the matter when they sit down Monday.
