Dana White Joins Mark Zuckerberg On Meta’s Board Of Directors!

Dana White will now appear on the board of directors for Meta, joining Mark Zuckerberg.
The news comes as White expands his role beyond the UFC. He has developed Power Slap into a viral internet sensation. He has also hinted at entering into boxing, having previously made Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor. His plans for Zuffa Boxing did not go ahead in 2018. But since then, White has suggested that there is an upcoming announcement. White and Zuckerberg have a good relationship.
Zuckerberg appeared in Alexander Volkanovski’s corner for his UFC 298 fight against Ilia Topuria. Unfortunately, Topuria knocked out Volk. But Zuckerberg is a big fan of MMA, having taken up the sport. He was also linked with an MMA fight against Elon Musk. Musk and White came together recently to endorse Donald Trump for the US Presidency. But at one point, White said there was a chance of an MMA fight with Zuckerberg and Elon.
Elon Vs. Zuckerberg
“They both said, ‘Yeah, we’ll do it.’ They both want to do it. Mark Zuckerberg hit me up first and said, ‘Is (Elon) serious?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know, let me ask him.’ I asked him, and he said, ‘Yeah, I’m dead serious. Listen, if these guys are serious, I make fights that people want to see. That’s what I do for a living.
“If they really want to do it and they’re serious, and we can figure out a way to pull this off, I would absolutely, positively do this. This would be the biggest fight ever in the history of the world, bigger than anything that’s ever been done. It would break all pay-per-view records. These guys would raise hundreds of millions of dollars for charity. You don’t have to be a fight fan to be interested in this fight. Everybody would want to see it,” White said
White Reacts
The fight never happened, but White’s move to Meta may rekindle those talks. The CEO of the UFC spoke about how AI can be positive. That could be something that is introduced into the UFC. Boxing tried it for the first time in its history when Oleksandr Usyk took on Tyson Fury in their rematch. The judges scored the fight 116-112 across the board for Usyk. While AI agreed with the result, the scoring was more in favor of Usyk. It had it 118-112. Regardless, Usyk’s outlanded Fury, as the AI confirmed the judges’ decision even if some agreed the scoring was too wide. White and Zuckerberg were looking forward to this next step.
“I’ve never been interested in joining a board of directors until I got the offer to join Meta’s board. I am a huge believer that social media and AI are the future. I am very excited to join this incredible team and to learn more about this business from the inside. There is nothing I love more than building brands, and I look forward to helping take Meta to the next level,” White
“Dana, John [Elkann] and Charlie [Songhurst] will add a depth of expertise and perspective that will help us tackle the massive opportunities ahead with AI, wearables, and the future of human connection,” Zuckerberg
