Dana White Calls De La Hoya A ‘Two-Faced Lying Nut Job’

Dana White lashed out at Oscar De La Hoya as he continued their war of words.

The pair have not had the best of relationship over the years. They appeared to fall out when De La Hoya questioned whether the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor fight should have gone ahead with suggestions that it was not good for boxing. The fight ultimately went ahead as Mayweather stopped McGregor in the tenth-round.

While the fight sold 4.3 million PPVs, there was the perception that Mayweather carried McGregor to the later rounds to make the fight more competitive. White responded to De La Hoya by calling out his prior problems with drink and drugs. Now, White has taken things a step further.

White On De La Hoya

“Oscar De La Hoya is a two-faced lying nut job. Oscar and I are never going to be cool, never ever. Look at anybody who has ever dealt with Oscar De La Hoya. I don’t know if that guy has anybody who is his real friend.

“For all the things I think about De la Hoya personally as a fighter, Oscar was the real deal, but as a human being, completely different. I would go to his fights. I used to promote his fights on my socials. Then I went to do Mayweather vs McGregor [in 2017], and he started [bashing] the fight. Yet saying I would fight McGregor, though,” White said

De La Hoya has rubbed up several people in the wrong way. Canelo Alvarez is also not on good terms with the Golden Boy Promoter. At the Jaime Munguia presser, Canelo accused De La Hoya of trying to steal money from him. The two nearly squared up to each other, as they were separated by security. De La Hoya responded by suing Canelo for defamation.

De La Hoya’s Critics

Devin Haney is the latest person to have spoken out against Oscar. After his fight with Ryan Garcia, Haney stated that he had not been paid. De La Hoya responded by confirming that Haney is not a draw and urged him to to audit his company to show that he had not stolen money.

Ryan Garcia had also slammed De La Hoya during his presser for the Oscar Duarte fight, before they patched things up. While Oscar did venture into MMA for one card to try and rival what White was doing, he came up short with his expectations. His Golden Boy MMA organisation was done to try and make fighters earn more than what White was paying them. It fell short with White having plenty to say.

“If you look at the history between me and him, he’s like I am going to get into MMA and pay these guys what they deserve to be paid. No, he didn’t. The guys involved in that fight all got…[little] He didn’t pay them more than they ever made in their careers. He didn’t even know half the guys’ names on the card, and the list goes on and on with that guy,” White added
