Caleb Plant Calls Out Jermall Charlo - 'I’m Not Hard To Find'

Caleb Plant has called out Jermall Charlo as he continues his attempts to secure a fight with the American.

Charlo recently returned to the sport after more than two years out of the ring with mental health issues. He dominated Jose Benavidez Jr. to win a comfortable unanimous decision. His WBC middleweight title was not on the line as question marks remain over his next steps. His mandatory Carlos Adames has been waiting for over two years for the title shot. Charlo must either defend or vacate the belt. If he does decide to move up to 168, a Plant fight would make sense.

Plant On Charlo

@futureofboxing No sense talking about what you “plan” on doing if you don’t “plan” on fighting me. Don’t even stutter my name anymore unless you want to make it official. I’m not hard to find,” Plant stated

Both fighters do have a lot of bad blood. Following the Errol Spence Jr. vs Terence Crawford weigh-in, Plant hit Charlo. Security intervened to separate both men, after which Plant explained his reasoning. He accused the fighter of disrespecting him in front of his wife and pulling his beard in front of her.

“You know, grown man touch another grown man in his face, pulling on his beard real hard, and you know, I’ve got the decency to tell you not to do that again and I don’t smash on you right there. I got enough decency to tell you not to do that again. And you know the only thing you can reply is with, [that] ‘I’m a b**h-a** white boy…I got my wife standing right behind me and I’m in a room full of my peers. I mean, what do you do? You’re making it real hard on a guy,” Plant said

Charlo On Plant

Nevertheless, Charlo has shown a reluctance to get in the ring with Plant. Following his win over Benavidez, Charlo addressed the issue of a Plant fight. The latter had been in attendance at his fight to push the calls for the bout.

However, Charlo responded by mocking Plant since he had no belt. The former IBF super middleweight champion lost his title after being stopped by Canelo Alvarez. Instead, Charlo’s focus was on Canelo or David Benavidez moving forward.

“Man, we ain’t worried about none of that. Like talk to me about something good. That s**t old. That s**t stale. We want something new. You know what I mean? Who got the belts? He don’t got no belt. He struggling right now.

“You know what I mean? I’m not worried about him. We still on top, we looking good. You know what I’m saying? We still going. They can’t wait for me to fight again. I can’t wait to fight again. As long as we keep it like that, we all right,” Charlo stated

If a fight does go ahead for a world title, Plant would have to come down to 160. Either way, it is building up nicely for a big event.
