White Rules Out Ronda Rousey’s UFC Return

Dana White has ruled out the idea of Ronda Rousey returning to the UFC.

Rousey left the UFC in 2016 after suffering consecutive defeats to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes.

However, she did create history by becoming the UFC’s first-ever female champion which did make her a cash cow in the sport.

Thereafter, Rousey decided to retire as she pursued other ventures in WWE and beyond.

But given that the former UFC bantamweight champion has left the WWE this summer, she is now a free agent.

That led to speculation that she could return after Chelsea Chandler confirmed those rumors.

“I’ve been hearing Ronda is coming back. I’ve heard she’s coming back at 145. You never know. […] If I get out there and put on the performance I plan on putting [on], I’ll welcome her to 145. I think it would be a great fight,” Chandler

In addition to this, Julianna Pena has spoken previously about wanting to fight Rousey. Her last fight was against Amanda Nunes at UFC 277, as she lost via a unanimous decision.

But given that Nunes retired, the title was up for grabs as Pena suggested the idea of facing Rousey for it.

“I was hopeful, I hope Ronda comes back. She’s another who’s had an ass-whooping coming to her for ten years, same as Raquel [Pennington].

“So, let’s go! Sometimes [I watch Ronda in the WWE], but I don’t pay for cable so I don’t follow it that closely,” Pena

Although that may have been the case, White has denied claims that Rousey will make a return to the sport.

“There’s no shot. She accomplished everything she set out to do. Her dream was to win a UFC championship then win a WWE championship. And she’s done it. Now she’s starting a family. Ronda has made so much money and she’s still making a lot of money in sponsorships,” White

Regardless of whether Rousey returns to the UFC, she has created a legacy that will be remembered. And there is no getting away from that.
