Joe Rogan spoke with Terence Crawford about the viral mix-up that saw him get mistaken for rapper Kendrick Lamar during a live UFC broadcast.

The incident occurred during the “crowd cam” segment of the UFC 306 Sphere event in September 2024. As the camera focused on Crawford, the on-screen graphic identified him as “Kendrick Lamar.” The irony is that the 2024 Drake diss track ‘Euphoria’ by Kendrick involved the following lyrics: “He’s Terrence Thornton, I’m Terence Crawford, yeah, I’m whoopin’ feet.” Crawford finally confronted the UFC through Rogan, remaining convinced that the promotion intentionally mislabeled him. Rogan stepped in to state that it was a case of human error.

“No. No way. No way. No, no, no, it was just some moron in the truck. No. 100 percent, they did not do that on purpose. No one in the UFC would ever disrespect you like that. No one would disrespect you like that. No chance. “They did not do that on purpose. That was just some dumba– that thought that you were Kendrick Lamar for some reason. It was so stupid. And then I think they corrected it later in the broadcast. I don’t know who it was. I didn’t want to know. I’d yell at them,” Rogansaid

Crawford’s Future

Elsewhere, Crawford addressed his future as he shut down a return to boxing. Bud retired last December having beaten Canelo Alvarez at super middleweight last September to become undisputed, making him a three-weight undisputed champion. Despite links with a return to the ring, Crawford made it clear he is not coming back, stating there is nothing else to prove.

“It’s over with. Since 2014, I’ve been fighting for something. I won my first world title in March 2014. Ever since then, I’ve been fighting for titles and undisputed. Now, if I come back, what’s the motivation? Just money? Okay, what is on top of that? “I wanted to be remembered as one of the greatest champions of all time. I think I did that. This last fight I had, the height of it, there is no better finish than that, to me… You did everything right. So, what can top that?,” Crawfordsaid
