Usyk's Team Dismisses Fury's Trilogy Callout

Boxing News Staff
Boxing Editorial Team ·

Oleksandr Usyk's team has downplayed Tyson Fury's push for a trilogy fight, with manager Sergey Lapin saying no serious offer has been made.

"Usyk is not Tyson's backup plan. Oleksandr is always open to big challenges. But serious intentions are backed by a concrete offer, not statements in the press," Lapin

Fury called out Usyk over the weekend after his proposed fight with Anthony Joshua stalled once again over venue disputes. Usyk beat Fury twice in 2024 and has since relinquished his heavyweight titles, but appears more focused on a potential fight with Deontay Wilder, believed to be targeted for 2027.
