Teofimo Lopez believes Ryan Garcia enters as the favorite against Conor Benn this weekend, but isn't ruling out a competitive fight or even an upset.

"There could be an upset. You see the pictures [of Benn looking depleted]; you see how his facial structure looks and everything like that. I think a lot of people are focusing more on those things than [on] the skills. It should be a competitive fight. I think Ryan Garcia has a greater chance of winning this fight than Conor Benn. However, this is boxing and anything goes," Lopez

Garcia defends his WBC title for the first time since beating Mario Barrios in February, having rebounded from a doping suspension and a rough decision loss to Rolando Romero in 2025. Benn, meanwhile, hasn't made 147 pounds since 2022, and Lopez pointed to Garcia's speed as a key advantage, while acknowledging Benn's durability could carry him the distance regardless of the outcome. Should Benn pull off the win, he's said he plans to vacate the title and move up in weight, citing the toll of making welterweight.
