Hearn Blames TKO For Fury-Joshua Deadlock
Eddie Hearn says TKO Group Holdings is the reason Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua still have not signed to fight in November.
The Matchroom promoter told DAZN on Saturday that TKO approached Joshua directly last week with an offer to stage the fight at Madison Square Garden in New York, according to Sherdog. Joshua's camp wants the bout in Britain, while Fury's side has backed the American venue, leaving the negotiations stalled.
TKO's Direct Offer to Joshua Criticized
Hearn said TKO went around his team to pitch Joshua on accepting the New York location. "Yesterday, TKO went around the back again to try and offer Joshua money to do the fight in America," he said, per the report. "It's a dirty, dirty game, mate, to be honest with you."
The promoter argued that without TKO's involvement, the fight would already be announced. He said Joshua remains committed to fighting at home and that the backlash against moving the bout overseas has only strengthened that position.
Hearn added that TKO's insistence on an American venue shows disregard for British fans. The targeted November date remains unconfirmed as the location dispute continues.
