Scott Coker Reveals Ki MMA Launch Plans
Scott Coker has named his new MMA promotion Ki MMA and plans to launch early in 2027 with a global Grand Prix tournament, MMA Fighting first reported.
The veteran promoter, who built Strikeforce and later ran Bellator MMA, made the announcement Tuesday and said longtime matchmaker Rich Chou would join him on the venture. Chou worked alongside Coker at both previous organizations.
Ki MMA Grand Prix Format and Structure
The promotion's debut centerpiece is a 32-fighter Grand Prix spanning four continents. All participants will compete in one weight class, and the bouts will take place inside a ring rather than a cage, breaking from the standard setup at most major MMA organizations.
Coker did not specify which weight class would host the tournament or name any signed fighters at Tuesday's announcement. Ki MMA is pronounced "Key MMA."
Further launch details and fighter signings are expected in the coming months ahead of the promotion's early 2027 debut.
