Jose Delgado has posted his first public comments since Jean Silva submitted him in the Noche UFC 4 main event Saturday in Glendale.
Silva locked in a rear-naked choke in the third round to hand the featherweight his first stoppage loss. Delgado had taken the short-notice headliner after Yair Rodriguez pulled out with an injury, marking his first UFC main event. "Dared to be great yesterday and came up short. But man, I loved every second of being on that stage with high-level opposition; that includes the heartbreaking pain of failure," Delgado wrote on Instagram, per BJPenn.com. "Pure freedom."

What's Next For Delgado After Silva Setback
Delgado had entered the bout on a two-fight streak, with wins over Austin Bashi and Andre Fili. The Dana White's Contender Series alum made his promotional debut in February following a knockout of Ernie Juarez on the show. He spent weeks building the Silva matchup, promising a decisive finish before falling short in the cage.
Silva now moves back into the featherweight title conversation after the win. A number one contender bout could be next for the Brazilian.
