Jermall Charlo Eyes Munguia In Houston After Mazoudier Fight
Jermall Charlo says a fight with Jaime Munguia makes the most sense as he chases a world title at middleweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super middleweight, with Houston as his preferred location.
"The fight with [Munguia] makes the most sense. I'd love to fight him right here in Houston. Mexican crowd, sold out," Charlo
Charlo has also suggested appearing on a Canelo Alvarez card in Mexico, but nothing indicates talks with Munguia have begun. The former 154 and 160-pound champion calls this his "last run," aiming to become a three-division champion at 168 rather than move up to heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight.
First he faces Koen Mazoudier on October 17 at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, a fight postponed from July after Charlo had visa problems in Australia. The 36-year-old hasn't fought since stopping Thomas LaManna in the sixth round in May 2025.
