Musk Will Fight Zuckerberg Outside Of The UFC
Elon Musk has responded about the prospect of him fighting Mark Zuckerberg in a cage fight.
The duo first entertained the idea when Musk responded to reports that Zuckerberg was considering an alternative to Twitter by stating he wanted a cage fight with the Facebook founder.
The latter then demanded to know the location, as the social media verbal shots increased the likelihood of the fight being made.
Both moguls have been training in MMA. Musk has shared pictures with St George Pierre. Meanwhile, Zuckerberg has done the same with Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski.
That got the attention of Dana White, who expressed his desire for the UFC to help stage the event.
White On Musk Vs. Zuckerberg
"It’s real. They do want to fight. It’s real… It’s funny because we were talking about the Colosseum for that fight and I actually did have a meeting with the Minister of Culture’s team in Italy to actually hold that fight in the Colosseum if it would happen. We’re talking," White
Although that may have been the case, it appears that Musk has no intention of having the UFC involved.
Musk expanded on how he has spoken to the Italian government about using the Colosseum in Rome as a venue. And in doing so, the UFC would be ruled out as Musk and Zuckerberg’s foundations would oversee it.
Musk’s Comments
"The fight will be managed by my and Zuck’s foundations (not UFC). Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all. I spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location. Everything done will pay respect to the past and present of Italy. And all proceeds go to veterans," Musk
White has yet to respond to this, but the move will be a blow to the UFC’s branding in that they will miss out on the biggest MMA fight in the history of the sport. And there is no getting away from that.
