Colby Covington mocks Dustin Poirier after Georgia arrest
Colby Covington has weighed in on Dustin Poirier's recent arrest in Georgia, mocking the former lightweight title challenger despite being retired from competition himself.
Poirier was arrested on a public intoxication charge earlier this week, with a mugshot showing bloodshot eyes surfacing shortly after. MMA Mania reports that Covington responded with a jab at Poirier, who has cultivated a charitable public image through his Good Fight Foundation.

The dig comes as Poirier navigates life after his fighting career, which ended following a final run at the UFC lightweight title. Covington, who last competed at welterweight in late 2024, has continued his pattern of callouts and verbal attacks from the sidelines.
According to the report, Covington made a reference to Jorge Masvidal in his criticism, suggesting the former friend and rival "did nothing wrong" — a callback to their long-running feud that extended beyond the cage into legal disputes.
Poirier has not publicly responded to Covington's comments. The Louisiana native retired from MMA competition earlier this year after a decorated career that included interim lightweight gold and multiple title shots at 155 pounds.
