Tommy McMillen says he's ready to step in as backup for the UFC 333 featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Movsar Evloev.

McMillen, who faces Marwan Rahiki this Saturday at Noche UFC in Glendale, told MMA Fighting he'd take either spot if the promotion calls. The 28-year-old doubled down on comments he made last month about beating Volkanovski, explaining that the viral clip lacked context but that his belief stands. He said he told interviewer Steiny he considers Volkanovski the division's greatest of all time, but added that for the right money he'd fight anyone — and expects to win.

The undefeated prospect is 2-0 in the UFC this year with two stoppage bonuses. He credits his size and wrestling background for his confidence at 145 pounds, noting he walks around at 220 pounds and stands six-foot-six. McMillen told MMA Fighting he believes he has the tools to beat anyone in the division, including the champion and top contender.

Volkanovski defends his belt against Evloev on October 24 in Abu Dhabi. The Australian beat Diego Lopes by decision in their rematch earlier this year, while Evloev earned his shot with a win over Lerone Murphy at UFC London in March.

McMillen dismissed Evloev's wrestling-heavy style and said he's offering his services if either man pulls out. He enters Saturday's fight against the 9-0 Rahiki as a slight favorite in a matchup that's drawn significant buzz in recent weeks.
