Mark Magsayo believes his new promotional home will deliver the championship opportunity that eluded him for years.

The former featherweight titleholder told ESPN that Zuffa Boxing provides the platform he needs to chase another world title after a prolonged period of stalled momentum and promotional limbo. According to the ESPN report, Magsayo sees the UFC-backed promotion as a reset after years of frustration. The Filipino fighter reportedly views the move as a chance to rebuild credibility against quality opposition rather than remain stuck in matchmaking purgatory.

Magsayo won the featherweight strap by outpointing Gary Russell Jr. in 2022 but dropped it six months later to Rey Vargas. Since that defeat, securing top-tier assignments proved difficult under his previous promotional setup.
