Mokaev Maintains He's Best Flyweight After UFC Exit

Muhammad Mokaev says he remains the best flyweight in mixed martial arts despite being cut from the UFC and has pledged to keep capturing belts while targeting fighters still on the promotion's roster.

The undefeated Dagestan-born fighter told Red Corner MMA he has no doubts about his standing at 125 pounds after being denied a title shot in the Octagon. "I just know it," Mokaev said, per the outlet. "I know they just didn't give me a chance to get the belt. I'll keep collecting belts all over the world and calling their fighters out."

Mokaev's Post-UFC Run

Since his controversial departure from the promotion, Mokaev has compiled a 5-0 record across multiple combat sports disciplines. He captured the Brave CF flyweight championship before adding an ACBJJ submission grappling title, notching four finishes across those five appearances. The 23-year-old has also competed in Karate Combat during the same stretch.

In a social media video posted after his ACBJJ win, Mokaev referenced comments UFC CEO Dana White made two years ago. The British fighter said White told him to become champion elsewhere, which he says he has now done with titles in Brave CF and ACBJJ, according to Championship Rounds. He closed that message by calling himself the best flyweight in the world and promising to stay active.

Mokaev holds a 17-0 professional MMA record and has repeatedly campaigned for a UFC return while continuing to win outside the promotion. His next fight has not been announced.
