Lamont Roach vs William Zepeda tops boxing weekend card

Lamont Roach and William Zepeda square off for the vacant WBC lightweight title Saturday night in Las Vegas, according to Bad Left Hook, capping a weekend that features two IBO title fights in Dublin and a celebrity rematch in Lagos.

Roach earned his shot with performances against the division's elite that left observers convinced he deserved better on the scorecards. His March 2025 draw with Gervonta Davis and August draw with Isaac Cruz both tilted his way in most ringside accounts, per the report. Zepeda enters off his lone pro defeat to Shakur Stevenson a year ago, a bout in which he managed to drag the defensive stylist into exchanges more than most opponents manage.

O'Leary defends IBO strap in Dublin

Pierce O'Leary puts his IBO lightweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super lightweight belt on the line against Mark Chamberlain in Dublin on Saturday afternoon. O'Leary claimed the title stopping Maxi Hughes in five rounds his last time out. Chamberlain went 1-0-1 since losing to Josh Padley in 2024, the defeat that reportedly cost him favor with Saudi boxing backer Turki Al-Sheikh. His most recent outing was an August 2025 draw with Jack Rafferty.

The Dublin undercard features another IBO title bout when Royston Barney-Smith meets Reece Bellotti for the vacant Intercontinental featherweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super featherweight strap. Ray Muratalla defends his IBF lightweight title against Robson Conceicao on the Las Vegas undercard.

Friday's Lagos card streams on DAZN at 1:00 pm ET and features a rematch between Nigerian celebrities Portable and Charles Okocha, plus South Africa's Ayabonga Sonjica against Nigeria's Taiwo Agbaje. The Roach-Zepeda main card airs on DAZN and TNT at 8:00 pm ET Saturday.
