Justin Gaethje Weighing Retirement

Justin Gaethje says he's undecided on retirement but confirmed Arman Tsarukyan would be next in line for a title shot if he chooses to fight again.

"This has never been about money for me. It's about health. I'm going to enjoy being champion the rest of the year. I'm going to make a business decision and a life decision whenever the time comes," Gaethje

Gaethje, 37, cited concerns about long-term health after a 40-fight amateur and pro career, saying he has nothing left to prove following his June win over Ilia Topuria. He's ruled out fighting again in 2026 and hasn't set a timeline for a decision.

Tsarukyan strengthened his case for the next shot with a first-round knockout of Mauricio Ruffy on September 19, extending his win streak to six, though he's questioned whether Gaethje will actually take the fight or opt for retirement or a Topuria rematch instead.
