Cris Cyborg Says She's Not Ready To Retire

Cris Cyborg says she's stepping back from retirement plans, arguing women's MMA needs her to keep the 145-pound division alive.

"I'm not ready to retire… Not yet. If I walked away today, there would be no major MMA promotion with a women's 145 lb division. That's unacceptable. I've always wanted my legacy to be about the opportunities I helped create for other women, just as much as the titles and records I earned myself," Cyborg

Cyborg appeared to close out her career with a decision win over Ketlen Vieira at PFL Tampa in August, an event billed as her retirement fight. Since then, she's floated a potential rematch with Amanda Nunes to save UFC 332, and drawn interest from BKFC, where champion Christine Ferea has called her out and promotion president David Feldman has said both he and Conor McGregor would like to see her join. No new opponent or promotion has been confirmed.
