Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury: Turki Alalshikh says ignore everyone else

Saudi Arabian financier Turki Alalshikh has told boxing fans to ignore the mounting speculation around Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury until he confirms the details himself.

Alalshikh, who is bankrolling the heavyweight clash, took to social media to clarify that neither the venue nor the promotional structure has been finalised. "Till now I have not decided yet where the fight will take place and [who] will work with me… some ppl are making up stories about it," he wrote, per Boxing Scene. "If you want to know the facts take it from me or [The Ring]. If you want to waste your time listen to others… You know that whatever I say I do."

Why the Joshua-Fury negotiations remain stuck

Both camps have reportedly signed contracts with conflicting terms. Joshua, who fights Kristian Prenga on July 25, is said to have agreed to a November UK date with Zuffa Boxing barred from lead promoter duties. Fury's deal reportedly includes different terms on date and location, with both Zuffa and Matchroom excluded from the top promotional role. Fury teased an August 1 bout in Ireland but has not committed to an opponent.

Queensberry's Frank Warren acknowledged the uncertainty over the weekend. "I'd love it to take place in the UK," he said, per Boxing Scene. "But as I've tried to explain to everybody, until that meeting takes place [with all involved parties] I don't think anything is going to be determined where it takes place, or the date it takes place." Warren also noted that if Netflix lands the broadcast rights, neither Matchroom nor Queensberry could officially promote due to their DAZN exclusivity deals.

London's Wembley Stadium remains the obvious choice given both fighters are British, but venue, date, and promotional hierarchy all hinge on Alalshikh's next move. That summit with all parties has been teased but not scheduled.
