Johnny Fisher signs with Zuffa Boxing, debuts September 26

British heavyweight Johnny Fisher has signed with Zuffa Boxing and will make his promotional debut on September 26 at London's Copper Box Arena.

Sky Sports reports that Fisher (14-2, 12 KOs) has officially joined Dana White's upstart promotion and will fight on Zuffa 11, though his opponent has not been announced. The Englishman, who carries a following in the UK despite a modest record, becomes the latest addition to a Zuffa roster that recently added Shakur Stevenson.

Fisher promises 'blood and guts' for Zuffa debut

"The most exciting chapter of my professional career begins," Fisher said, per Bad Left Hook. "Thank you to Dana White, Nick Khan, and the Zuffa Boxing team for this opportunity. Everything has led to this point. Bull Army, get ready to assemble. Bosh!"

Fisher told reporters he plans to bring aggressive, fan-friendly fights to the promotion — the kind of blood-and-guts combat Zuffa has emphasized in its early signings. While he lacks the marquee cache of Stevenson, the 14-fight veteran gives Zuffa another body for its UK expansion and a draw with the Bull Army fanbase.

The promotion is expected to flesh out Fisher's matchmaking plans in the coming weeks. Zuffa 11 marks the company's first London card since launching in March.
