Conor McGregor is heading to the operating room but says he's not done fighting.

The former two-division UFC champion will have surgery following his first-round stoppage loss to Max Holloway at UFC 329, ESPN reports. McGregor confirmed afterward that he plans to compete again once he recovers.

McGregor's next steps after Holloway defeat

The nature of the surgery and McGregor's expected recovery timeline were not disclosed. McGregor, 36, has fought sporadically in recent years, with the Holloway bout marking just his third octagon appearance since 2018.

No date or opponent has been named for McGregor's next fight. His team indicated the Irishman will make a decision on his return once medical clearance is granted.
