Riyadh Security Warning Puts Canelo-Mbilli Date In Question

A security alert from the U.S. Mission Saudi Arabia, issued October 5 and cautioning about potential drone or missile strikes, has cast doubt over Canelo Alvarez's October 31 clash with Christian Mbilli in Riyadh.

The alert told American citizens to stay alert and follow guidance from Saudi Civil Defense. For now, the card hasn't moved. The WBC still lists Riyadh on October 31, though commentator @BarbosaBox raised the idea of a shift with a post reading "Canelo-Mbilli November 21st in Vegas?" That remains pure speculation, as no new venue or date has been confirmed.

Time is working against any switch. Supporters may already have flights and hotels locked in, and both fighters are deep in preparation for an end-of-October date. Pushing the fight to November 21 would mean three extra weeks of camp and a reshuffle of travel plans. A postponement would also drag out the layoff for both boxers, who haven't fought since September 2025.
