Gane Scores On NBA Star Gobert In Basketball Game
Ciryl Gane scored twice on four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert in a one-on-one basketball matchup.
The UFC heavyweight posted video to his Instagram Stories showing him going head-to-head against the Minnesota Timberwolves center, per Sherdog. Gane connected on a pair of baskets against Gobert, who has won the league's top defensive honor four times.
Gane's Athletic Background Before UFC
The French fighter played both basketball and soccer before switching to muay thai in 2016. He turned pro in MMA just two years later and has lost only to former champions Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones across his entire run. Gane knocked out Alex Pereira for an interim heavyweight strap at UFC Freedom 250 in June.
Video clips from years earlier show Gane pulling off dunks with ease. He has also competed in charity soccer matches in France. The 36-year-old is expected to face Tom Aspinall in a title unification bout when the champion returns from injury.
