Degli Targets Bonus In UFC Debut Against Raposo
Brazilian flyweight Marcos Degli expects to earn a performance bonus in his promotional debut this Saturday when he meets Mitch Raposo on the Vegas card.
Degli carries a 15-3 record into the matchup, with nine stoppages by knockout and five by submission. Speaking to Sexto Round earlier this week, the 26-year-old said his finishing rate stands in sharp contrast to an opponent whose four promotional appearances have all reached the judges.
Degli Eyes Statement Win Over Raposo
Raposo holds a 2-2 record inside the cage, with every result decided on the scorecards. Degli told the Brazilian outlet he intends to change that pattern. "I fight to finish," he said, per Sherdog.
The debutant said he plans to call out a ranked flyweight if he wins and revealed a longer ambition of breaking the title-defense record set by Demetrious Johnson. Degli said fans compare his build to the former champion, whom he considers one of the division's all-time greats.
The bout takes place Saturday at the Apex as part of the UFC Vegas 124 prelims.
