David Benavidez tipped the scales at 196.8 pounds Friday, more than three pounds under Gilberto Ramirez’s 200-pound mark at the official weigh-ins for their cruiserweight world title fight at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Both fighters made weight without issue ahead of Saturday’s main event on DAZN pay-per-view, per Sherdog. Benavidez (31-0, 27 KOs) moves up from heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight to challenge for the WBA and WBO cruiserweight belts held by Ramirez (48-1, 30 KOs). The undefeated Mexican knocked out Anthony Yarde in his last outing last November and enters as a heavy 2/7 favourite.

Ramirez defends belts after Bivol loss

Ramirez claimed both titles after a 2022 defeat to Dmitry Bivol, stopping Arsen Goulamirian and Chris Billam-Smith by decision before defending against Yuniel Dorticos last year. According to MMA Fighting, ring walks for the 12-round bout are expected around 11:20 p.m. ET Saturday.

The co-main event sees Armando Resendiz face Jaime Munguia at welterweight, with both fighters hitting 167 pounds. Angel Fierro missed weight by 3.4 pounds for his bout against Oscar Duarte, coming in at 143.4 pounds against the 139.8-pound limit.
