Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury: Only one man knows the truth

The biggest heavyweight fight in boxing has generated more noise than news, and Turki Alalshikh wants everyone to stop listening to the wrong people.

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury remain on track for a November super-fight, but conflicting reports about venue, date and promotional control have muddied the picture. Joshua faces Kristian Prenga on July 25 in a contracted warm-up, while Fury has yet to confirm an interim opponent despite teasing an August 1 card in Ireland. Per Boxing Scene, Joshua's deal reportedly locks him into a November UK date with a clause barring Zuffa Boxing as lead promoter, while Fury's terms differ on timing and location with similar restrictions against both Zuffa and Matchroom.

Alalshikh calls out speculation on Joshua-Fury

The Saudi financier backing the fight posted on social media that no final decisions have been made. "Till now I have not decided yet where the fight will take place and [who] will work with me… some ppl are making up stories about it," Alalshikh wrote, per Boxing Scene. "If you want to know the facts take it from me or [The Ring]. If you want to waste your time listen to others."

Wembley Stadium remains the obvious choice given both fighters are British, though weather concerns have kept Las Vegas in the conversation. Netflix could broadcast the bout, which would complicate promotional duties for Matchroom and Queensberry due to DAZN exclusivity. Frank Warren, speaking over the weekend, said he would prefer the UK but noted that nothing gets determined until a planned summit takes place.

Alalshikh indicated he will convene Dana White, Nick Khan, Eddie Hearn, Warren and DAZN representatives "to make peace and revolution for boxing." White called the effort to unite longstanding rivals Alalshikh's biggest challenge yet. The meeting date has not been set.
