Hearn Accused Of Cashing Out With Benn As He Sends Gervonta Davis An Offer
Eddie Hearn has said he has made Gervonta Davis an offer to fight Conor Benn.
Davis and Benn have been linked with a fight following their verbal shots on social media. After Benn’s far-from-convincing performance against Peter Dobson in his last fight, Davis reacted to it, stating it would take him three weeks to get ready for Benn.
Benn has been calling out the big names in the US, including Davis, Devin Haney and Terence Crawford. The Brit is currently banned from fighting in the UK after his two failed VADA tests for Clomophene. This is until he clears his name with the BBBofC and UKAD. They have appealed the National Anti-Doping Agency’s decision to remove Benn’s suspension. Now, Davis could be one of those names.

“Yeah, lots of talk with Gervonta Davis. I mean, firstly those two going back and forth and, you know, I’ve spoken to Gervonta personally and he’ll be receiving an offer from us today for that fight as well. I think it’s a huge fight, could happen in the UK but we’re looking,I think, in America for that.
“You know, you got two fiery characters, Gervonta is an outstanding fighter, super featherweight really. Coming up to lightweight and boxing at 140 [pounds] but never boxed at 147 [pounds]. And it’s really tough fight for Conor Benn. I mean, Gervonta is a pound-for-pound great,” Hearn said
Nevertheless, there are several hurdles in the way that need navigating before a fight can be made. PBC is known for keeping their fights in-house, and historically, they need a better relationship with DAZN or Matchroom Boxing.
Davis may also use Benn’s name to increase his profile, as there are question marks over his next fight. He has not fought since he beat Ryan Garcia last year, nor is there any news about who he will face. A fight with Devin Haney has been dismissed, while a Shakur Stevenson bout can no longer occur after the boxer announced his retirement. But if the financials make sense, a Davis-Benn fight may well follow.

“But I like the size advantage in that fight. It’ll be the first time, as I said, for a couple of fights that he’ll be fitting someone smaller than him. But he can really crack and he’s an outstanding fighter so it’s a big ask for Conor but this is what he wants. He wants those kind of tests, I think Gervonta Davis against Conor Benn is a fight that can really light up America and the UK. So he will be getting our offer today, I’m sure he’ll probably publicize the offer as he does on Instagram,” Hearn added
If Benn does not secure the Davis fight, there will be huge question marks over his career. His last two fights have been against Rodolfo Orozco and Dobson, who are not big names. Benn failed to stop both, and the boxer has not looked the same since his two failed VADA tests.
