Chisora Warned Against Fighting Dubois - 'Dubois Will KILL Derek, He Might Die'

Dillian Whyte has advised Derek Chisora not to fight Daniel Dubois, with fears over his safety.

Chisora defeated Otto Wallin in his last fight to secure his third win on the spin. That was his 49th fight, as he suggested that he would retire after his 50th bout. He mentioned names such as Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois for his next fight. Joshua is injured and not expected to return until the summer, making that fight unlikely. Meanwhile, Usyk has been ordered to defend his titles against Joseph Parker, who is mandatory for his WBO.

Usyk has already beaten Chisora, making a fight less pressing. A bout against Dubois could happen after the IBF made Chisora mandatory. However, Dubois is also keen on facing Usyk, which would be for the Undisputed Heavyweight Title. Chisora is looking for one more big fight to generate a mega purse before he retires.

White Reacts

While a fight with Dubois would certainly do that, Whyte felt it was very risky, given the respective nature of their careers. Chisora is on his way out and has taken a lot of punishment in the ring, having faced the biggest names. Meanwhile, Dubois is a knockout artist who stopped Joshua in his last fight. Whyte cannot see Dubois vs. Chisora happening anytime soon.

“No, he ain’t going ot fight Derek Chisora. No. He [Dubois] ain’t going to fight, no. Dubois will KILL Derek. He might actually die. Seriously. There are bigger and better fights for Dubois to take right now. It’s just business. Derek Chisora is at the bottom of that list. There are bigger and better guys at the top of the list. Yes,” Whyte said

There is a narrative in place for Chisora to face Whyte in a trilogy. Whyte has defeated him in two fights. The first fight was a controversial decision. Meanwhile, Chisora was arguably ahead on the cards in the rematch before Whyte knocked him out. It is also a mega domestic clash that would have the opportunity to sell out.

Chisora Vs. Whyte

The pair are on very good terms, having previously had a fierce rivalry, giving them an opportunity to secure one more big payday. Whyte has said he is available to fight in June, giving Chisora enough time to get ready for such a fight since he defeated Wallin in February. Whyte has also previously said he would be open to making a trilogy, leaving the ball in Chisora’s court. Chisora has said he wants the third fight if Whyte is clean after a previous failed test.

“I will have a rematch with Dillian [Whyte] as long as he’s clean 100 per cent. There is no point in fighting someone who is not clean, but if he wants a rematch, I’ll give it him,” Chisora stated
