Wardley KOs Clarke In The First

Fabio Wardley knocked out Frazer Clarke in the first round to win their rematch emphatically and retain his British Heavyweight Title.
The first fight ended in a split draw as Clarke showed tremendous resolve to get off the canvas to make it to the final bell. This time around, Wardley left nothing to chance. Wardley hurt his man immediately, landing a huge right hand that sent him to the floor. Clarke got back up and responded with an uppercut to show his resolve. Wardley followed that up with a right and a left that backed up Clarke. Two more right hands followed, which ended the fight in dramatic circumstances. It was not the ‘Fight of the Year’ contender that fans had seen the last time around, but Wardley was not complaining.
“I’ve got dynamite in each hand. I know once I hurt someone I can get rid of them. I want belts, I want titles. These look great and stuff, but I want the ones that say ‘world champion.’ Whoever else is hunting them, we’re going to have to meet here,” Wardley said
Eubank Jr. Stops Szeremeta
Chris Eubank Jr. knocked out Kamil Szeremeta in the seventh round to win the IBO Middleweight Title.
Eubank has had his first fight since his win over Liam Smith last year, which avenged his defeat in the first fight. Before the Kamil fight, he was involved in a heated altercation with Conor Benn. The pair exchanged verbals, with Benn pushing Eubank, setting the narrative up for a future fight. Eubank Jr. started the fight well, dropping his man in the first round. He connected with a straight right over the top of Szeremeta’s left, which landed on the jaw, sending his man to the canvas.
That set the tone for the fight. However, Szeremeta connected with a right following a moment of carelessness at the end of the first after he had dropped his hands. Eubank’s trainer, Johnathan Banks, told his fighter to tighten up. However, Eubank ignored the advice and went after his man. He threw more power shots as Szeremeta’s right hand landed in the fifth.
However, Eubank found his range in the sixth. A right hook to the midsection was followed by a right hand to the head, which dropped Szeremeta for the second time.
While he finished the round, the writing was on the wall. Eubank dropped Szeremeta twice in the seventh, ending the bout. Benn jumped into the ring, setting up a possible future fight.
“Listen, Szeremeta is a tough guy. There are certain people that when they get hurt, they look for a way out. This guy kept coming and I thought the body shots were gonna take this guy out. I don’t wanna keep punishing him to the head. I was working on things. Me and my new coach Johnathan Banks had a gameplan and it worked perfectly. It went beautifully. You saw what happened in the fight. Easy work,” Eubank Jr.
