In the MMA latest updates, Tyron Woodley, the former UFC welterweight champion, has admitted that he would consider returning to take on Israel Adesanya.

Woodley’s record in the UFC speaks for itself. His current record stands at 19-7-1. Despite getting a world title, the latter part of his career was not the best.

The MMA star lost four fights in a row, which then saw him retire and walk away from the sport. Since then, Woodley has dabbled in crossover fights. He had two memorable fights with Jake Paul.

Unfortunately, Woodley came out on the wrong side with two defeats. And yet, he was open to facing Adesanya. The latter has just suffered a loss against Sean Strickland as Izzy lost his middleweight title. Although there are talks over a potential rematch with the American, Woodley was ready to step in nonetheless.

Woodley On Adesanya

“The only person I would just want to beat the f*** out of is Israel Adesanya. Because he cap [fake]. He was never Israel Adesanya. … How do I do this again. Israel Adesanya, I get on the same show, TMZ, and they asked me who was next up. I said, ‘I kind of like this Israel kid. He’s kind of different, but he’s got some pizazz. He’s got his own character. He’s flashy, but he’s a good martial artist. I think he’s one to watch out for. This is when he first started out. So I gave him his respect,” Woodley said

Nevertheless, if such a fight does not happen, Woodley could still make a return in some way. He was linked with another crossover fight with KSI.

The latter will face Tommy Fury on October 14th, 2023, in what promises to be an explosive event. And depending on the outcome of that result, Woodley could find himself in another fight.

After all, the Paul bouts did build up his profile in this regard. There had been talks to make the fight happen, however, it ultimately broke down.

Woodley On KSI

During the course of the negotiations, Woodley made it clear that the terms and behavior coming from KSI’s side were unacceptable. This included suggestions that KSI’s camp were looking to impose a rehydration clause on him at the last minute.

Not only that, but Woodley had to weigh 175 pounds on the scales and then not allowed to exceed 185 pounds on the night of the fight. And looking back, Woodley was not impressed.

“The negotiation of the contract was very disrespectful, and it made me want to hurt him. So I told this to his manager. I was on a call with his manager and I said, ‘Never in my life have I been disrespected like this in a contract. So every advantage, they wanted. And this was terms that were added after we had already agreed. So we agreed, I got a contract, and they went, ‘Oh, I’m sorry to do this, but KSI’s trainer wants to add this hydration thing,” Woodley
