Powell announced the cancellation on social media days before Friday's card at UBS Arena in Belmont, New York, though he did not specify the reason. "It's one of those ones that's out of my control," he said in an Instagram video, per Sherdog. "It's annoying, but we've just got to keep moving."

The event also lost an undercard bout when undefeated prospect Zacharia Nishimwe withdrew from his scheduled meeting with Moustapha Diakhate. The promotion is reportedly seeking a replacement to keep Diakhate on the card.
The changes leave the July 31 event with nine bouts intact, headlined by Usman Nurmagomedov's lightweight title defense against Archie Colgan. Dakota Ditcheva faces Denise Kielholtz in the co-main event.
PFL New York airs live on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET on Friday.
