Ryan Garcia Blasts Claims His Mom Faked Cancer - 'The Dude Is A Liar'

Ryan Garcia has hit back at claims that his mother was faking breast cancer before his one-year ban for Ostarine.

Garcia was suspended after his two failed VADA tests for Ostarine following his victory against Devin Haney. Ryan’s majority decision win was overturned, leaving Haney undefeated with a 31-0 record. Garcia denied that he had taken anything intentionally, but the findings have tarnished his reputation. While Garcia received a one-year ban, it could have been longer.

Amir Khan also tested positive for Ostarine but received a two-year ban. This was even though he had a smaller amount in his system than Garcia, he was given a bigger ban. Now, Garcia has been facing further questions. Ishe Smith called out Garcia, stating that he may have not told the seriousness of his mothers’ condition. That did not sit well with Garcia, who had plenty to say.

Garcia vs. Smith

“[Ryan Garcia] Moms probably doesn’t even have cancer. The dude is a…liar. You’re a kid, bruh; I have a son who’s twelve that acts older than you. You can’t be running your own handle,” Smith

“Sure, bro, your mom…you don’t do anything about it,” Garcia

This is not the only time a boxer has said something controversial about Garcia’s mother. Teofimo Lopez also had a pop at Garcia, claiming that he had sold his soul. This was in reference to Garcia’s deal with Gatorade. Before Garcia signed with the brand, Lopez stated that he had been offered the contract. However, he did not sign the deal due to some issues in the contract. Garcia got the deal, but Lopez mentioned his mother’s cancer diagnosis. Garcia was unhappy, vowing to hurt Lopez the next time he saw him.

“I’m talking to Ryan Garcia here. I know you want to fight me when you see me in person. That’s fine. I didn’t mean no bad towards your mother in that essence. If you really look into it, I did say I really do wish your mum nothing but health.

Lopez On Garcia

“Cancer is not something to play with. But people are going to say what they’re going to say and tell you specifically that part of it and not talk about the good that I meant. But to each his own. If you want to duke it out outside the ring, I’ve got to defend myself, brother. So you’ve got to be the stupid guy to throw first,” Lopez said

Garcia must keep himself in a good headspace during his time out of the ring. The boxer was previously out of the sport for around two years after his win over Luke Campbell. Garcia admitted during the build for the Haney fight that he had been drinking and smoking weed. He cannot afford to do the same during his time out of the ring, especially since Haney has said he desires to have a rematch. If that is to happen, Garcia must be in peak shape to justify to his critics that he can beat Haney again.
